Every Child a Dancer

Every Child a Dancer

Puppik is comitted to aiding the opportunity for all children to have access to dance. We offer free resources for schools, help, advice and support.

Dance is a universal form of cultural expression that combines physical activity, social interaction, creative and emotional expression. We believe that dance can help boost participation in physical activity; improve physical health and fitness; and increase confidence and self-esteem. Dance can contribute to positive outcomes across the  whole of life course. For early years (under-5s),  being physically active through dance can improve cognitive and physical development and enhance social skills  and in children aged between 5-18 have shown evidence of increased physical fitness, wellbeing, and wider benefits as outlined above. So what is not to love.

Below are a few improvisation tasks and lesson plans to try.

This is a solo task using directed improvisation where the leader will guide the dancer through the task.

The dancer(s) can further explore ideas on their own or in pairs.
